The Major Taylor Cycling Club of Denver Inc. was established in 2011 and formed in honor of the African American cyclist who in 1899 overcame racial injustice to become the first African American world cycling champion.

Mission Statement

The Major Taylor Cycling Club of Denver Inc. promotes healthy lifestyles for cyclist of all ages. We are heavily involved in the community and volunteer as a team for several local events that support healthy living. We proudly represent Major Taylor in several charitable cycling events each year as well as holding group rides throughout the cycling season. We advocate for better infrastructure and cycling culture on behalf of the residents of Denver along with educating club members about bike maintenance / rules of the road and strives to educate the public about our namesake the legendary cyclist Marshall “Major” Taylor (see bio).

Our membership is open to all, regardless of gender, race, creed, or skill level.  We are dedicated to safe and enjoyable cycling, with rides offered for all ages and abilities
